Fred Jordan Obituary

It is with great sorrow to give notice of the passing of Fred Augustine Jordan on September 7, 2023.  Fred passed of natural causes due to ongoing health issues despite ongoing therapy for grumpy man syndrome.  Heart stopped beating eyes at rest. God broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best. Fred was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, on August 1, 1953, son of the late Frederick L. Jordan and Joanne Brogneaux Jordan. Beloved grandson of Augustine Jordan and Eleanor Jordan, who also preceded him in death. He is survived by his admired siblings, Jeanne Jordan Hanson, Ben Jordan, Laurie Thomas, Amy Jordan and Dan Jordan.  He married Kathy Gallagher, despite divorce they remained close friends. Fred and Kathy are parents to Hillary Jordan their only child. Fred is grandfather to Hillary’s son Connell Augustine McCauley who was the center of his world. Fred was a proud uncle to his and Kathy’s siblings’ children whom he adored. Fred graduated from Albert Gallatin High School Class of 1971. He attended Salem University in Salem, West Virginia from 1971-1975 for Physical Education and Sports management. He first worked for West Point Marion Lumber Company and at the Point Marion Lock & Dam.  Fred then owned and operated Jordan’s BP and Service Station in Morgantown with his father until he retired in 2014.  Fred and his father took pride in being business owners and supporting small businesses. Freddie was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.  Fred will now be a guardian in the outfield of angels watching from above.  Anyone reading this that knew Fred will be thinking of his wit, humor and friendship and would give their best day to play ball or a round of golf with him one more time. “A trophy carries dust. Memories last forever.” Mary Lou Retton.  Funeral and visitation services will be at Louis E. Rudolph Funeral Home at 15 N. Main Street, Point Marion, PA on Wednesday, September 13th 2023 from 2-5pm.  Followed by a celebration of life at Mario’s Fishbowl at 704 Richwood Ave., Morgantown at 6 pm.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mario Lemieux Foundation 112 Washington Place – Chatham Center Suite #1661 (412)281-3466 lemeiuxfoundation@mlf66.org. In remembrance of Fred. “I’ll remember you. When I’ve forgotten all the rest.  You to me were true, You to me were the best.” Bob Dylan.  Condolences can be made to the family at www.louisrudolphfuneralhome.com.
