Irene Watson Obituary

Irene Starinsky Watson, 89 formerly of Monongahela, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, GA with her adoring family at her side.

She was born in New Eagle, PA on April I, 1929 daughter of the late Stephen and Julianna Revilak Starinsky.  She was a graduate of Monongahela High School, class of 1947. In her later years, Irene was a resident of Southern Pines Independent Living Community in Thomasville, GA.

She was an accomplished seamstress, a loving homemaker for her family and worked at the Monongahela Library.  She enjoyed shopping, playing bridge, and golfing at Country Oaks in Thomasville with the many friends she met there and never forgot.  She was a member of the Monongahela Country Club where she was a previous multi-tournament winner and ladies club champion. She was an avid reader which she especially enjoyed while relaxing with a glass of fine wine.

She is survived by her devoted children, daughter Suzanne Sable of Venetia, PA and three sons, Robert Watson and wife Donna of Venice, FL; Thomas Watson and wife Toni of Tulsa, OK and Benjamin Watson and wife Dr. Lisa Rudolph-Watson of Thomasville, GA. She was the cherished grandmother of ten grandchildren; Hana Lance, Chloe Irla, Zachary Watson, Sarah Watson, Paige Sable-Baker, Robert Sable III, Matthew Sable, Julianna Watson, Jocelyn Watson and Hogan Watson and a great-grandmother of five. She is also survived by one brother Paul Starinsky of Naples FL, and one sister Helen Reynolds of Southbury, CT and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers; John Starinsky, George Starinsky and Steve Starinsky; a sister Mary Pollack and a loving son-in-law Robert Sable, Jr.

A celebration of her life and legacy will be held graveside at Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela, PA, on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow the services. Memorial remembrances in her honor may be made to the Monongahela Area Library, 813 W. Main St. Monongahela, PA 15063. Arrangements are under the direction of the Louis E. Rudolph Funeral Home, Point Marion.
