Neil Snyder Obituary

Neil R. Snyder, 79 of Morgantown, passed away peacefully at home, with his wife by his side, on February 5, 2021.  He was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Paul and Arlene Snyder.  He is survived by his loving wife Laura, son Shaun Snyder and spouse Kelly, daughter, Erin Medvid and spouse Nicholas and their daughters, Violet and Rose, daughter, Leslie Hinerman and spouse Justin and their sons Otto and Ivan, brother Barry Snyder and sister Barbara Eby and spouse Skip.  Neil was a faithful member of the Suncrest United Methodist Church and loved singing in the choir.  Neil received his doctorate in social work at the University of Pittsburgh, but he was never a Panther, always a Mountaineer.  Neil taught at the WVU School of Social Work until he started the first private therapy practice in Morgantown.  He was a dynamic and innovative teacher and therapist, as well as a life-long student.  Neil was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard.  Neil enjoyed his life to the fullest.  He was known for his infectious laugh, extraordinary sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone feel special.  He loved travelling with his family, his professional career, his farm in Canaan Valley, nature, music, God, and his grandchildren.  A private service will be held at Suncrest United Methodist Church.  Celebrate Neil’s life by donating to St. Ursula Food Pantry, P.O. Box 18, Pursglove, WV 26546.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Louis E. Rudolph Funeral Home, Point Marion and condolences can be made to the family at www.louisrudolphfuneralhome.com
